These two commercials were a total riot to produce. Everyone involved had a ton of fun with it. I had promised to show these two spots when they were ready.

I have always loved watching the old commercials and “teenage propaganda” films of the 50′s through the 80′s. We wanted to recreate this for these two spots. The only issue was we couldn’t decide on a decade, so we melded them together like Spock did to rock monster. The VO provides the old innocent feel of the 50′s, while the 8mm film was very 60′s and 70′s. Then we had the wardrobe and hair of the late 70′s, early 80′s. Nostalgia for everyone.

They have been running for a few weeks in Alaska now and we have gotten a lot of positive response. As a creative, sometimes we get so caught up in the actual piece itself, we can lose track of the effectiveness of the ad. I’m glad to see that didn’t happen here. Everyone wins. The client got two funny and effective commercials on a low budget, and we had a lot of fun doing it.
